Howdy,

Loving Mac. Have transferred virtually everything from Windows to it. BUT I have 2 folders in Music which cannot be recognized due to European spelling in the folder name:

DJ Tiësto

and

Röyksopp

In Mac, I cannot rename these folders (application unknown error) nor can I view them in Finder ...

Can someone please let me know how to modify the folder names or make a global change so that the European characters are recognized???

Thanks for your help!

Rob :)

Where are you transferring those files from? If you are reading an NTFS drive on your Mac computer, you can...

Get this: MacFuse.
Then, get this: NTFS-3G.

And then you can modify the folder names on your Mac.

Hello,

Thanks for a quick reply.

All my Music folders originated from a NTFS drive. I have installed the TUXERA NTFS program on my Mac, registered version, which works a charm except for the transfer (copy / paste) of these two particular folders.

When I access the NTFS drive to rename the folders, it just can't be done.

I suppose a simple solution is to bring the drive to a Windows PC and rename them, then transfer them...

Thanks for your time!

Regards.

How about just transferring the contents of the folders to two new folders on your mac?
