Folks,

Sorry if this is similar to other threads, I couldn't find anything that covered what I'm thinking of doing. Also it's been several years since I've posted, so I've been a reader but not a poster for a long time.

That being said, I currently have a 13inch 2017 MacBook Pro 3.5/16/1TB that I'm thinking of giving to my wife and replacing with a 2018 15inch MBP 2.2/2TB/16/560x. I also have a Powerspec gaming laptop that I'm thinking of selling. I'm hoping to reduce the number of machines by 1 and also still be able to do some occasional gaming by dual booting Windows on the 2018. I'll be offsetting the costs of the 2018 MBP by selling the Powerspec Laptop and by either trading in my wife's 2016 13inch MBP to Apple or selling it via Gazelle. The Powerspec machine has the following specs:Intel Core i7-7700HQ Processor 2.80GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB; 16GB DDR4 RAM; 1TB HDD+250GB SSD.

I realize the 2018 MBP won't be able to run all games at maximum resolution but I'm wondering if I drop down the resolution on a few games such as Call of Duty Wildlands, Prey, a few of the Call of Duty's, FarCry if I can get some decent performance on it. I only play solo and I'm okay with not running things in the highest resolution possible/4K. I only play a few hours of week of gaming and I'd really like to not have to juggle two separate machines. If I had the room for it I'd go for an iMac but NY apartment living doesn't make that possible.

Anyone who has done some Windows based gaming on a 2018 MacBook Pro, will I be able to pull this off and play Wildlands, Just Cause 3, and a few FPS's with mid-range resolutions and scratch my occasional gaming itch?

Thanks for any thoughts/suggestions.
