Hi, I'm a long term windows user having to turned to the mac side

I've just installed Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro using Parallels Desktop, my question do I need to install anti virus software on Windows 7 when running it through the mac

When you connect to the internet with you Windows 7 VM, then it is advised to do so.

There are currently no viruses for Mac OS X in public circulation, only a handful of trojans and other malware, which have to be installed manually via entering the administrator password.
The only anti-virus you need to protect your Mac is education and common sense.
