I'm running Itunes on a Windows 10 machine and when I connect my iPad Air, via USB, in order to do a Backup, the iTunes ( Vn 12.5.1.21 ) shows no sign of recognising that the iPad is connected.

I've tried different USB connections and two different USB cables, to no avail.

I'm 'fairly' sure that I have done a backup this way since installing Windows 10 on my desktop ( it was running XP previousely and iTunes worked fine then, backups worked perfectly.

When I connected the iPad to the W10 machine a week or so ago, I'm 'again, fairly' certain that iTunes recognised that the iPad was connected, but Itunes popped up an update offer, which I clicked on. Since then, it does not recognise the iPad - or my wife's iPad3, using the old connector.

Has anyone else had this problem and/or can suggest a solution ??
