This is a little bit of a long story but to keep it short and sweet. I have determined that iTunes will take between 1 and 5 minutes to launch and never recognize an iPod in the following situation.
-There are any disconnected network drives (with network cable unplugged).
If I either disconnect/remove all mapped network drives, or plug in the network cable so that those drives become reachable. iTunes will launch and recognize a device within 3 seconds.
Has anyone ever run into a situation similar to this. I'm really not sure what's causing this. This is a fresh install of the current version of iTunes and there is no music library at all...let alone on one of these network drives. This is in a corporate environment and we've been seeing this same situation happen off and on on laptops. I wish they were but *Macbooks are not an option
*
Thanks for any ideas.
