I have MBP connected to an external display. If i have a window open and then open another app my current window closes. This happens as well when using command + tab. Say I am in chrome and tab to a word document chrome on my main screen hides itself. I then have to tab back to it to make it reveal itself. After several tabs I can manage to get them to both show but why does OSX do this? Is it just me?

Bump 2

This just started happening in the last week - when you cmd-tab from chrome to word, the chrome window disappears. I have two Chrome windows open on a dual-display (third display on my laptop); when I cmd-tab back to chrome, the window it's there. Go to Chrome > Window > and find the missing window there, click on it, and it 'slides' into view from the right side of my left monitor. So bizarre.
