I've been trying to get media player to run on my intel iMac and I can't seem to find anything that will do it. Short of buying a copy of XP and using bootcamp is there any way I can get .wmv files to work on my iMac?

I've donwloaded from the link before and it's a .sitx file.. I have no idea what that means and I don't know what application to open it with.

I appreaciate any further help.

I was wondering wether or not to download the beta of flipformac or windows media player for OS X but didn't know if WMP was a unversal binary or not. If not, would FFM make a better choice...

As long as you don't need to play WMV files in a web browser I think that for now, WMP 9 is a better choice. It's not universal (and never will be) but it plays just fine on the Intel Macs. Flip4Mac for Intel is sorta hit or miss for me still in web browsers.

Popwire WMV-9 Component is currently Universal Binary in its shipping version. It is a free download with an option to unlock additional functions for a $49.95 US fee.
