I was wondering how to get Windows Media Player on the mac? I guess the current version for mac is not supported on Intel MAC's . Any alternatives?

I may be wrong, but I believe flip4mac has a universal biarnary. I haven't looked yet.

It's in beta. It was leaked a couple of weeks ago but they closed all of their sources.

this kinda relates to the topic, but how would i get Windows Media Player off of my mac? Whenever i put it into the trash and attempt to empty it, it tells me that part of Windows Media Player is locked...

im pretty sure that dragging a windows media file into iTunes converts it to AAC if it's audio or MP4 if it's video. if this is too much of a hassle, vnc may work.

I zapped Windows Media Player, but all it did was put it in the Trash, and when i went to empty it, it still wouldn't empty. Also, my Windows Media player doesn't function at all. It always quits before anything opens. What do i do?
Nevermind, i found dropnuke which erased it. Thanks for your help!

Dude, use Flip4Mac. It's very handy. Although not all windows media files work on it. I have found some internet streams just turn up errors...

It's a quicktime plug in that makes it possible for you to play the windows media movie files. Yes you'll be able to see them in a safari window.

is flip4mac just a media player? Will it allow me to play videos in the safari browser?

or in the window of any other browser, for that matter. (AFAIK, that is)

If files are locked, hold down option when selecting "Empty Trash." Or, go to the terminal and type "sudo rm -rf" and drag the file into the terminal window. Be careful when using that command. You could potentially delete all of your data.
