Windows Media Player---VLC ????

...OK..we all get little movies via the net, usually from ....and sorry here...in my case girls...every morning...funny cat antics or creepy skateboard accidents! Here's my question...most of these are WMP files, but when downloaded to my desltop they show a VLC icon, when I just double clicl the aodio opens but the video shows a window saying it is damaged and to "dismiss" it???? But then I go and open WMP and have to go to file open...and it plays fine....what's hp???

Just Get Info (from the file menu or right-click) on any of the .wmv files, and choose a program to open it with, then select "Change All..." and it will set all of them to open with WMP.
