windows opening on display 2

Hello,

i have a vga monitor connected via thunderbolt adaptor, and second display connected to hdmi port.

now and again, if i open for example 'photos' app, it'll open on the second display, hdmi tv, and not the primary display, via.

so i drag it back over, and close it in the primary window.

then sometimes it happens again, not just with photos, sometimes safari too.

any suggestions ?
