I've been running a server in windows 7 on my Mac Mini (Mid 2010), with the two disks running in RAID-1 (software raid through Windows 7).
A couple of weeks ago one of the disks failed. It was then replaced under warranty with a new Apple 500GB Hard Drive (both the old and new drive seem to be Toshiba drives).
Now the problem: upon rebuilding the RAID, windows gives an error that both disks "must have the same sector size". I've looked into this and some people claim it is a bug in windows which can be resolved through lots of fiddling.
Another explanation could be that apple has started using drives formatted in the 4K sector Advanced Format, possibly upgraded from the older drives that my 2010 mini was using.
If anyone can confirm that being the case, I believe the problem should be solved when replacing that older disk with another newer 4K drive (which I'll have to pay for myself unfortunately, since the old drive still functions).
