windows to imac internet sharing

im a mac newbie and have just brought a imac from a friend, however i want to share my internet connection from my windows pc to my imac via a ethernet cable. is this possible? how would i go about doing this? i have shared the internet connection and connected them via a ethernet cable....

any help is appreciated..

I belive you neeed a router (wired or wireless) to share internet.

Actually it's far easier to use the mac as the Internet server in this case. XP requires many hoops to jump through and it may screw up a default conection if you want to use the PC elsewhere.

In the iMac, go to "System Preferences", "Sharing", "Internet"

Check the boxes o the connection types you have, and click start. That's it!
