I have a lot of old video clips (.mod - [JVC]; Canon 70D) on a Windows PC which are of moderate (good enough) quality even when edited in a Windows based program (Corel VideoStudio).

However when transferring the clips to my new iMac (2014; Mavericks) , the clips are fine when viewed in iMovie. On the basis of a recommendation, I purchased Adobe Premiere Elements to use for editing but only seem to be able to import the clips after converting from .mod to mp4 (or other). Unfortunately the quality of the picture is appalling (jumpy/blurry/"pixelated") in Premier Elements although the audio is unchanged.

I am a complete novice at this so any suggestions/advice would be welcome

Transcoding with IdealShare VideoGo

Hi

Thanks - with IdealShare VideoGo. After further investigation I have "discovered" that as a novice I should stick with iMovie for now.

Thanks anyway!!
