My surface refuses to check for updates, gives me the error 0x80080008, the error code help don't help and I finally got the thing to finally tell me "Some settings are managed by your organization"

Um what!?

I don't have an organization? This is my own computer I bought. Not a company or what not.

I miss the windows 7 era

Edit:
The thing did update finally, after a reboot. I read there could be a bug. Somehow the thing was set to a work group instead of individual. Will see if changing that and running the update fixes things.

Finally got the blasted thing to update, took some tinkering and I am not sure if that fully fixed things. I got a whopper of an update, the fall creators edition so it took a long time to install. So long in fact I thought the sucker hung and I tried to reboot it. It finally went through.
