Windows Vista Install disk on MacBook?

Anyone with knowledge about what requirements a Vista install DVD/CD needs to meet to start an installation of Vista on a MacBook?

I think I once heard you need a genuine Vista Install disk but that would prevent you from using Windows Vista Lite versions wouldn't it? Genuine windows vista takes up a lot of resources so there are good reasons to target Lite versions I guess.

What Lite version are you talking about?

by lite the OP means a version that has been cut down after-market to provide an installation which is smaller and more compact inside by eliminating unnecessary extras, see here for details

in answer to your question though, Vista will install just fine off a DVD-R, i am not condoning piracy here whatsoever and i myself keep a copy on a DVD-R for when i'm on the move as i don't want to lose my original disc (although with windows 7 beta installed now i'm starting not to care so much!).
