Windows vista won't boot on iMac

Hi there I'm having a problem with bootcamp at the moment and in particular with the windows partition. I am running windows vista but whenever I try to boot into vista I just get a flashing cursor in the top corner of a black screen. I have tried running disk utility but I am unable to verify or repair the bootcamp(windows) partition of the disk. I have also tried resetting the ram and many other options I have found in these forums. Please help

sounds like windows failed. its vista. no shock.
