Hi,

I had SMB and VPN set up on my old Mavericks server. Off site windows users would connect via VPN and the appropriate shares would pop up in the "network" area on Windows Explorer. This doesn't happen now that I'm on Yosemite. If my windows users are in the office the shares are available just no longer via VPN.

What did I screw up?

(DNS is available to all networks, all users are "services only" [as they were on Mavericks], file sharing is available to all users and all networks).

Update...

Forcing a connection to the server (start, all programs field, \\fqdn.ofserver.tld\) works. However, the mac server sometimes will reject access to the shares with the account name. More interestingly, it will sometime accept access to the shares with an email address (that matches an email address that I put in the user profile).
