Hi,

I am trying to install Windows XP on MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.8. The Bootcamp version on my notebook is 3.4. I was able to partition (NTFS) and complete the installation (Windows XP + SP2 unattended CD) and can boot the Windows XP. But the problem is that i am not able to find the drivers (Macintosh Drivers) to be able to complete the installation. The default CD i got with notebook complains it only supports Windows 7. I tried to get the WindowsXPDrivers for the bootcamp 2.1 from the Apple site but when i try to run the .exe but complains there is nothign to update. Does the new Macbook pro's support Windows Xp? If yes, any help in getting this to work would be great.

Thanks,
Shiva

Windows XP is no longer supported on the early 2011 MBP, you're SOL and will have to run windows 7, or run XP in a VM.

What you're experiencing is normal.

Snaky69 -Thanks for the info.

I tried the VMware Fusion 4 and it linked the bootcamp as soon as i started vmware. I went ahead and started windows xp in the bootcamp using vmware and it automatically installed the drivers along with the vmware tools. Now the Windows Xp works with all components in the Vmware (well technically in the bootcamp).

Hi, I have the same problem; using Mac OSX 10.6.8 with Windows XP installed on Bootcamp.
Everything works fine except I cannot connect to the wifi connection, since I was unable to download the snow leopard support disk.
Do you guys know if ethernet connection works?..since it doesn't require the snow leopard disk drivers?

Hi i am having the exact some problem! ... I have a 2011 iMac with Snow Leopard.. and I installed WIndows XP SP2 through bootcamp with no problems at all... yet when i come to put my mac install disc in, it says Bootcamp needs Windows 7 and closes. So now i'm stuck with a windows with "no sound" .. no graphics card and no internet etc.

Can anybody post a step by step guide on how to fix this please? :) Would be sooo much appreciated as I have spent so much money and time on this already! ...

hope to hear from somebody soon :)
