I will be getting a macbook pro 13" and I want to do a little gaming... call of duty.. and a few other games.. Would I get better performance with bootcamp in xp or Windows 7
Windows 7 is the better bet. Call of Duty and other games of the same age wouldn't tax your system either way, and Windows 7 is the better performer with newer games.

^^ Seconded. XP is a 7 year old OS - software makers will (hopefully) be moving away from XP as time goes on (much as Tiger is being done on the Mac side). I have 7 Home Premium on my Acer laptop and it runs great - and this on a $399 budget laptop with a low-voltage AMD Athlon X2.
I am not sure if a lighter version of XP will run better than 7. But with the same RAM although my XP Virtual Machine has more free RAM, the one with Win 7 works better
