Hey does anyone know if you can link an XP system to an OS X system via Firewire 400? (I Googled and searched MR's with no success.) My XP desktop system has a Creative Audigy card with a 6 pin Firewire port on it. I've got a [bleep] load of data to move (60+ GB.) and I figured instead of using my LAN it would be simpler to simply transfer it via Firewire. So before I go out and buy a 6-pin male to 6-pin male Firewire cable I figured I would shoot up a help me flare.

PS- No I haven't gotten my MacBook Pro yet. Just getting things ready.

Mac to Mac there is firewire target disk mode which makes things easy but Mac to PC it isn't quite so, I believe. I think one way you could do it is set up a network using the FireWire cable. My iBook has a firewire connection shown in the networking section of its system preferences but my PC is without firewire so I couldn't try it out for you, someone else could though...
