Windowserver Process What's normal?

Hello, Does anyone know what the normal % of CPU usage you should be seeing for the Windowserver process in my activity monitor when nothing is running in the background (immediately after start up). I am jumping between 1.3% and 30%. Is this normal when there is nothing running in the background?

mine is currently using 0-3% on a dual core MBP

Figured out my issue...

Thanks for the info. I ended figuring out my problem, had the desktop set to change pictures every 5 seconds like a screen saver...took me 30 minutes to realize..now I am back down to 1%-3%....oh well.
