WindowServer using all of CPU and causing freezing

I am getting huge slowdowns which result in an eventual freeze. When I notice the slowdown, Activity Monitor is showing WindowServer using up to 99% of the CPU. Any ideas on what is happening?

Do you have any third party themes installed? Do you have any third party items in the top right of your screen?

The only 3rd party thing I had that I could think of was APE with Clear Dock. I uninstalled that and so far things seem fine.

That makes a lot of sense. Post back if it starts acting up again.
