My PC owning friend got struck by this last week. he's pissed off cos it keeps bringing pop ups and adware all the time, making it hard to watch DVDs and surf un-interupted.
He said that a popup came up saying 'would you like to install for a free checkup' to which he clicked no, close, whatever... since then he found out that was how he got the virus, and its quite a big one.
I was just surfing in safari when the same WinFixer pop-up box came up, asking if i wanted to checkup..
obviously, i don't need win fixer, since i use OSX, and also, i know OSX is supper immune to viruses, however, i force quitted safari just to be safe.
Has anyone else here seen that popup window, and if so, has it cause problems with lotsa popup windows, or will OSX simply tell it to get stuffed?
