Today, I got another winmail.dat file in my email.
If you don't know what this is then follow along, but if you do you've probably experienced the overall frustration of dealing with people using Windows PCs and Microsoft email products.
These files can be created when someone uses Outlook or Exchange on a PC but sends their email and attachments in HTML and not plain text.
The end result is that YOU get a winmail.dat file and not the email message and attachments you were expecting(?).
In the past, I have had a viewer on the Mac Pro at work that shows me these files, but today I actually needed to get the attachments out. A bit of searching and I found: TNEF's Enough for Mac OS
I noticed when I found this app that there is a Leopard universal version and a Tiger version! Hence, my post here.
Now, I installed the Leopard version on my coworker's G5 but she wasn't able to read the file so your mileage may vary. I was able to open it using the latest version on the MP.
But if it works for you then great. It's an option.
Thought I'd share what I found.
