I got a gift certificate at REI...I was thinking about buying the North Face Denali jacket...any thoughts on that?

I need to buy a real snowboard jacket...any advise?

north face makes ovr expensive crap if you want a real ski/snowboard jacket go with something better. columbia is very good, also spydr makes great stuff. i suggest going to your local ski shop and asking around

Northface is fine.

Your best bet is to visit an REI store and hunt around. Several sites have ratings and there are a few outdoor magazine sites that rate clothing.

I don't know if the Denali is purpose built for ski/snowboard. Many jackets are.
