Winterboard Question

This is driving me nuts. I know that to theme SBSettings you place the theme in Lib/SBSettings/themes...yada yada and it works. My question is this.
1. Can the themes be placed into Winterboard instead of into the SBSettings lib folder?
2. Can a landscape respring .png be used along with the standard respring 720x1024 image.

I have googled this to death with no resolve.
