Guys,
I am on an oil rig and have just sold my MBA to one of my buddies, I want to wipe it before I give it to him but I do not have any of the instalation CD's with me and he wants to take it before I go home.................... is there a way I can do that and send him the instalation CD's later???
Thanks in Advance

Short answer: no

What you can do is delete all the applications, setup a new account, delete your account. Thats all you can do until you have the discs.

If you've got a CD and a portable drive then download DBAN, you'll have to use the autonuke method but that will wipe the drive completely.

Once you have done what was suggested above you can go into disk utility and erase the free space where there are options to secure erase it.

Actually, the account-create-delete plus 0ing the empty space is a good option.
You also could give it really clean by erasing almost the whole drive in single user mode but then your buyer will need to go home with an unusable machine.
