Hi guys, when I was made redundant from my job we were told we could keep any work kit - I guess it saved them the hassle of managing three hundred people’s returns.

For me this included an M1 MacBook Air. Problem is it’s locked by the corporate IT admin. Does anyone have any advice wiping the hard dive and starting a fresh? Would a bootable usb work? I’d rather keep it than sell it for parts.

Cheers,

I think a bootable usb should work. I reinstalled Monterey doing this.

You will need the administrator name and password to proceed. Contact previous employer.

(Edit: my original post had information that pertained to Intel Mac not the M1 Silicon. Apologies.)
