I have a new MacBook Pro that had the wrong information uploaded to it and now I am trying to get back to the set up like brand new. I did the Command R several times and now when I get to disk utility it only shows container disk 1. What can I do to get the drive back to reinstall the os?

Im pretty sure you need a boot drive using a usb thumb drive. Hope someone with more knowledge will chime in here.

Linda,

I think you're going to need a bootable USB drive with the OS on it to continue.

More than likely, the clean wipe also wiped the recovery partition that should have allowed the Command R functionality / internet recovery.

If there are any nearby Apple stores, maybe they can help you?

A bootable USB drive with installer would get your system back to original more quickly, but an external drive, or a bootable USB stick, is not necessary.

Here's an Apple support article that tells you, step-by-step, how to get the system installed again.
