My daughter forgot her iPad 1's password and then wiped it via find my iPad.

When I look at the backups, they are from the time when she forgot her password, so I am worried that I will just be able to restore to the lost password state, and be back to square one again.

What is the best method to get this iPad operating again?

Any help much appreciated.

Will the restore give me an option to set up as new? Or will it just restore to the previous lost password state?

Restore will be two steps. The first is resetting to factory 4.3.3. Then you'll be presented with two options; either set up as a brand new iPad, or restore from a previous backup. Sounds like you'll need to set up as a brand new iPad.

Perfect! Many thanks for the assistance.
