I want to wipe all my data from my iPhone 4. It is on 4.0.1 and Jailbroken.

Can I simply press the "erase all content and settings" on my phone itself? Will this make me restore with itunes?

Or do I need to download the same firmware I have now and just Option-Click-Restore through itunes?

I just don't want to upgrade my baseband.

Thanks!

To restore fresh on 4.0.1 you need the SHSH saved. Check in Cydia, top of screen, to see if you have the SHSH.

Try to avoid the erase all content and settings while jailbroken, apparently it just kills the phone and you have to restore anyway.

Great thanks.

I am in Cydia now.. at the top of the screen it says:

SHSH: iOS 4.0.2, 4.1, 4.2.1, 4.2b3

Am I good to just do the option click restore right now?

Would it be the same to just go through my phone, delete each contact, all the music/photos and apps individually? I am giving it to someone else so I don't want it to have anything of mine on it. I don't mind the tediousness to rule out the chance of ****ing it all up.

You need to use tiny umbrella to download those shsh if you already haven't done so and then set up tiny umbrella to be the TSS server. Then you should be able to restore one of those old versions.
