Ok when I had my iPhone 3G when you wiped your device it took two hours! But now when I wipe my iPhone 3G S it takes a matter of seconds..... Does anyone know why... it takes two hours on the 3G and seconds on the 3G S

Might have it as a process not showing. So quick delete everything, then do the 2 hour process in the background?

3G S has hardware encrypted file system, it just erases the encryption key/header of file system, without the key rest is garbage after that.

Whereas 3G has to physically overwrite entire flash with 0's to wipe it.
