Is it just me or Wipr does not play well with YouTube lately?
Things seem to get stuck on both YouTube Safari version or the standalone app.
Anyone else?
Any solutions other than switching off Wipr or changing adblocker?

Wipr should have no effect on the YouTube app. In Safari yes, but not the app. I use another ad blocker on my devices and haven’t seen any issues on YT in Safari, I don’t use the YT app, no way to get around ads on it.

I am aware it doesn’t block YouTube ads, neither on the app nor on Safari, however I thought maybe it has a negative effect of the ads loading as the problem seems to go away when I disable it.
I guess I need to observe for longer As it could have been just coincidence.

It should block YouTube ads in Safari. Mine does. Of course Google may change things up, again, causing the blockers to be ineffective. But for now they are.

YouTube changed things up a year or so ago and none of the ad blockers were effective. But they caught up and I only use Safari for YouTube and Twitter videos now so no ads. On the YouTube or Twitter apps only some general network blocker through your router or maybe a VPN would work, I don’t use either.

After some more testing I am getting more and more convinced that Wipr is messing with YouTube, both in Safari AND in the standalone App (perhaps it uses the same Safari engine?)

Anyone else *with Wipr* can confirm whether lately they are having buffering problems (with the ads) watching YouTube videos?

Thanks

EDIT:
I did more testing and I am just not sure anymore.
This is so frustrating. Youtube buffering a long time before starting either the video or the first two ads. Usually fine after that.
I’ve no idea what could be causing it.
