Well, I just recently received a used wired apple keyboard, but whenever I try to plug it into any USB port, I get the following error:

Even when I unplug every other USB device, I get this error. I'm using a Mac Mini.

What keyboard and what Mac Mini are you using?

Apple has several keyboards (green with black keys, white plastic, aluminium) and also has several Mac Minis (G4, Core Duo, Core 2 Duo).

Also what USB port are you using?

I'm using the most recent wired keyboard Apple sold (aluminum), and the most recent Mac Mini design (core 2 duo.) Also, I tried on every USB port with the same results.

Well, I just tested the keyboard on a Windows PC I have around, it worked. So I guess the keyboard isn't defective.

I just tested the keyboard in Windows on my Mac Mini - it works there too.

Well, I just booted in verbose mode - it seems to notice that the keyboard is also technically a USB hub, and decides there's not enough power for it's USB ports.

It seems that if I plug my flash drive into either port, it lights up for a few seconds but then turns off, and OS X doesn't mount it.

... well, going off of a suggestion of the guy that sent me the keyboard, I blew out the dust in the USB ports. That fixed it. I figure Windows didn't care because it didn't recognize the hub part (I tested.)
