This started happening as soon as I got my iPhone 17 Pro Max (same on iOS26.0.1).

With wired CarPlay the display becomes distorted to the point of being unreadable, though it never completely disconnects. What you see in the picture is the best form of it, it gets much worse. Vehicle is 2018 MB GLC 300. I have already reported it to Apple by the way.

My wife’s 15 Pro Max on iOS 26 works flawlessly on the same setup. I have also tested multiple cables, including the one that works fine with the 15 Pro Max, so it is not a cable issue.

Anyone else seeing this with CarPlay on any 17 series, especially with Mercedes Benz brand cars?

Anyone having the same issue, please report to Apple using feedback page.

I haven't had that issue specifically but the past couple of days, my iPhone would just randomly disconnect from CarPlay then reconnect after a few seconds. Mine is connected via a cable, not wirelessly.

I had a 17 Air for 2 weeks with this exact same problem

MB A Class for reference

My GF phone (iPhone 16) with same cable worked perfectly fine. I then connected my 17 Air to my mums car and it worked perfectly fine too

So not a clue what the issue is

I sometimes use my work phone (SE 2022) with wired CarPlay and it has done this too since updating to iOS 26.

This is interesting. I am hearing it for the first time that this happens with an iPhone other than the 17. Thanks for sharing.

I hope this is just a software glitch, and what you shared just gives me hope that it is. I always thought it was something with the new phones. I’ll test more with other iPhones that I have from older gens.

I have the exact same issue! 2018 Mercedes CLA, and the distortion happens with iPhone 17 Pro. It does not happen when I swap to my old iPhone 15 Pro. iOS 26.0.1 and I tried 2 cables.

If you wouldn’t mind, please report to Apple. The more reports we have, the better chance they will work on it

Found a solution to my issue. A really short OnePlus USB-A to USB-C cable. ZERO disconnects or any stupidity with wired CarPlay in a Jeep with 8.4 UConnect.
