If you're looking for a professional wired headset, I can recommend the Sennheiser SC 665. This comes with dual on-ears, a top-notch boom mic with active noise cancelling, and a wired 3.5mm jack. The SC 635 is the single on-ear variant, whereas the SC 665 is dual-on-ear. This headset isn't cheap, but it is a great headset for a professional or someone who wants stellar audio via cellular, VOIP, Skype, and wants it in a compact package.
The SC 665 is solidly constructed, with quality components. Looks about as good as it can get with dual cans and a boom mic. It's compact yet still feels well-built and can withstand a lot of use. The entire headset sounds great, the on-ear speakers and pads are comfortable. People I spoke with said I sounded clear and close. No drops, no cutting out. This was on the Verizon network with an LTE connection from an iPhone 7, Lightning to 3.5mm adapter, and the SC 665 headset.
If you use your cellular phone a lot, and clean, clear communication is paramount to you, get this headset. I dislike Bluetooth and wireless headsets because, even today, the quality is subpar when compared with wired headsets. I absolutely cannot stand, afford, or tolerate wireless/Bluetooth drops, audio cuts, or anything of the sort. Wired headsets are the only way to go for this level of audio. And I am glad Sennheiser is offering this 3.5mm jack version because you get it, and plug it into your cellular phone (or tablet, or computer jack), and it works.
If you are on an Apple device that has Lightning ports only, the Sennheiser SC 665 works with them as well, you simply need the Lightning to 3.5mm adapter, which I am using without any problem or issue.
I don't know if you'd want to use this as a gaming headset, since these are on-ear cups versus the more common over-ear for gaming rigs.
But if you are looking for a quality premium headset for your iPhone or cell phone, one that looks good and performs well, this one is it. And if you are at work, in airports, or want to use this on the go, you can do it with confidence. It looks very nice, it's not obtrusive, and you absolutely can pull off using this headset in the office or in public spaces where people expect you to be working.
Not affiliated with Sennheiser or anyone selling this headset. Just an independent review after looking for a quality cell phone wired headset that just works. I hope it does well for Sennheiser because there are those of us out there who still want wired audio, want a quality headset, want a simple 3.5mm jack connection, and this particular headset hits the trifecta.
