I had been currently using a rechargeable Bluetooth keyboard on my Mid 2011 iMac. I managed to get a similar S/H wired USB Apple keyboard (without the keypad) which I prefer the key action of, plus you get 2 USB sockets. The keyboard works fine how ever I now have the issue with the iMac not wanting to go to sleep. When I select sleep mode from the apple menu it goes to sleep but wakes up several seconds later. It does this every time.
Didn't have this problem with the Bluetooth keyboard or if I unplug the USB keyboard
Anybody got any idea how to fix.
Update, tried my wired full sized keyboard works OK. Also tried the problem keyboard on my old 24" iMac same problem.
However checked the cable had a small cut in it. looks like the screening braid and foil is cut.
Looks like the conductors are OK so maybe a floating ground that keeps it waking the machine up.
The keyboard works fine. Don't know if it is worth cutting the cable and re-doing all the joints or peeling back the outer casing and see if the ground is completely separated and patching in a new bit
I also tried foil around the cut in the cable to screen it but it made no difference.
