Has anyone found a wired mouse that emulates how the Magic Mouse operates? I have a 2018 Mac Mini and while the Bluetooth seems to be more reliable now than it was (probably due to OS updates) the range is limited. Since the Magic Mouse has the charging port on the bottom (WHY???) it is unusable when plugged in unlike the Magic Keyboard.

I love the track surface operation of the Magic Mouse and would love if it came in a wired version so I can get more reliable usage from it. I have the Logitech UltraThin and it is a great mouse but it is also Bluetooth and suffers from the same range limitations and the battery does not last as long.

Has anyone come up with a decent alternative mouse with track surface operation that worked wired or wireless with it's own USB dongle rather than Bluetooth?

I use a Logitech G203 wired mouse. Though not exactly like a Magic Mouse, it has several programmable buttons and is an extremely responsive and customizable mouse. It's $15 on amazon at the moment but I paid double that.

I might try one of these out but I am still trying to find a wired mouse with a track surface.

If only Apple would update the existing Magic Mouse with the Lightning port at the front like the keyboard has it then we could use it in wired or Bluetooth mode. Seems like such a simple and elegant solution.
