Wired Remote For iPod

Does it plug into something other than the headphone jack? Can it be used with other headphones than the in ear ones that iPods come with is the real quesiton here.

it plugs into the headphone jack and either the outer ring on old ipod or the remote connector on new ipods to . you can connect any standard headphone set to the plug in the remote (i forget the size).

The remote has a standard 1/8 inch headphone jack on it. It's the same headphone jack size as on the actual iPod.
