Hi all.
I am having huge problems with my wireless internet on my iMac, and I have plowed through this forum in search for something that could help me out, but haven't found anything.
My iMac can connect esily to my Zyxel wireless router, but the internet is very slow, and often it comes to a complete stop.
However, my MacBook pro works perfectly when I sit right next to my iMac, and connect to the same router. It's fast and stable.
- My iMac is from 2004 ( I think), the first generation of Intels, and runs a fully updated version of Snowleopard.
- The problem has been getting gradually worse over a few months time, and is really bad now.
- I have went through all the network settings, and they seem identical between my iMac and MBP.
-I have changed DNS servers to open ones, as suggested in another thread in here.
-I have changed channels on my router, and get the same result on channel 1, 6 & 11.
-My iPod touch connects easily to the same router, and is fast as well.
-I have disabeled bluetooth on my iMac.
Nothing works. Can this be a hardware failure on my Airport? I would think that that would result in a total loos in connection.
Thanks a lot, I would really appreciate any input!
