Wireless adapter or airport extreme for cennecting macbook online??

So a friend of mine asked me to find them a wireless adapter for their macbook because their airport card got busted nd apple wanted $700 to replace it. nd as im sure u all know wireless adapters are very hard to find if any. i was looking at the aiport extreme and i was wondering if i would use that nd as a repeater so my friend can just use the ethernet to connect??
any suggestions??

This should work. Depending on the other wireless router, if you can get the two routers to bridge to each other wirelessly, you can use one of the ethernet ports on the Airport Extreme to connect to the MacBook.
