Wireless Apple keyboard doesn't repeat and instead displays special characters.

Hello!

Ever since I upgraded to OS X Lion I have been having some troubles with my Wireless apple keyboard.

Even though "Key Repeat" is set to fast and "Delay until repeat" is set to slow, the keys do not repaet, and instead, a little white box pops up with all the accents for that key I am holding down.

For example:

I hold down "e" and a little white box pops up and displays 7 different e's that I can type by pressing the corresponding number 1-7.

How do i turn this off? I would like my key repeat back!

i'm having a similar issue - my keyboard repeat rate is very slow, even though it's set to fastest in the keyboard prefrences.. my other two macs (also just upgraded to Lion) work as expected..
