Hey why isn't the wireless card in my $3k computer awesome? I have a hard time getting reception in my room (i live in a warehouse) but my gfs computer (a very modern, but half priced HP) gets the reception. Mine keeps timing out and disconnecting.

I guess what I'm saying is that I'm sad at the wireless in the computer and asking if there are any recommended wireless solutions, such as compatible usb wireless card... things?

As you can see I don't know much about this kind of thing.
 
Does it work when you go closer to the router? The aluminum blocks some of the signal AFAIK so it might be the issue. Here is OS X compatible USB WiFi dongle

Yeah. I mean with a strong signal the wireless is awesome, but when I'm not in close proximity it becomes almost useless. Thanks for the link!

What router do you have? It may simply be old (wireless g) and thus the range is worse than it would be with newer router
