Hi, received my new 14 PM and it seems it has brought with it a CarPlay issue. I didn't have the issue while running iOS16 on my 13 pro, which seems odd to me. No rhyme or reason and it picks it back up quickly. I've reset network settings, reset my phone and set up as new, reset my infotainment system, confirmed eq is off all to no avail.

Anyone else having this issue? Is there a chance it could be the phone itself? Seems unlikely to me but I'm not sure what else it could be at the point. Any ideas?

Same issue here with my 14 Pro Max. Also had it with my 13 Pro Max running the beta. Super annoying for me as it pauses the radio and goes right to the CarPlay interface when it reconnects. Happens every few minutes.

Interesting you had the same issue with your 13, perhaps I just didn’t notice it on my 13 for the week I had it on ios16. I have a genius bar appointment tomorrow just to see what they have to say.

Let me know how it goes. If it helps, I have an Audi Q5. My wife has a Jeep Grand Cherokee L. On her Jeep, we had no issues with either phone nor the beta. I’ve tried network resets, repairing, etc. nothing works on the Audi.

I had this on my 13 pro and it is happening on my 14 pro also. I somewhat solved it on the 13 pro by un pairing it and re paring it using the steering wheel commands in my Subaru Forester. When I re paired it I did not load the phonebook. I make sure to disconnect wi-fi before leaving the house. it works flawlessly. I have no idea why it works but it does.

I am holding off doing it for the 14 pro for obvious reasons. It is a pain to not have the phonebook loaded but it made the difference. I dont think it is the phone that is the problem. I cobbled together a few solutions that people had tried in the past. This issue has been around for years and I suspect it is on the car side.

For me, it seems to be Apple Maps triggering it. I get the distance to home notification every time it happens.

Genius said it was a known issue with iOS 16 but he wasn’t sure if next week’s patch would include the fix or one after.
