Wireless charging inside a case: max gap allowed

Does any review mention this? Anybody tested it?

Ultraslim cases maybe?

Or even something rugged like an Otterbox Symmetry? (doubt it)

We need new drop resistant cases with all around protection but a slim-as-possible back.

Apple leather case is not exactly a slim case and it will work just fine.
Even some of the slim otter boxes will work.
