According to this site/topic:

https://www.google.lv/amp/s/9to5mac...reless-charger-for-iphone-8-and-iphone-x/amp/

...all the chargers used for the test charged iPhone 8 approximately the same ~20% in 30 minutes...

I bought a cheap 15 euro charger from the e-Bay (looks pretty well built) and attached it to the USB port of a PC (which outputs only 5V/0.5A). To my surprise, I got the same 20% in 30 minutes on the X. It’s the same as those ‘super expensive’ chargers. So I was wondering what is the difference...if I can get the same with only 0.5A input to the charger...

P.S. Will iPhone 8/X use 9V/1.5A when 7.5W charging is enabled in 11.2?

This article seems to say that 7.5W charging has not a lot of difference if I get it correctly:

I downloaded the 11.2 beta just for fast wireless charging. I have not done any times comparisons, but from my experiences it doesn’t charge any faster at 7.5w than it does at 5w. Maybe Apple will up that to 10w when the AirPower is close to releasing. For reference, I’m using the RAVPower fast wireless charger. It supports up to 10w.

It doesn’t matter so much to me anyway. I’m not a heavy user while still waiting for apps and games to support the new screen and popping it on the wireless charger overnight is more than enough. Everyone sleeps. Shouldn’t really be the need for fast charging imo.

It charges 50% faster. That’s huge. Want a 50% pay raise? Imagine losing 50% of your body weight. I love how people dismiss the significance of 50% performance improvement because they can’t see or touch it. Lol

Really? Do you have any test results, comparative graphs or reviews on 11.2 (beta) and the charging speed improvement in real life? I could not find any, except the link to a review in my first post.

In order to really benefit from Fast Charging you need Apple approved wireless chargers. So far only 2 being sold at Apple are approved by them. It is unclear if any other 3rd party devices will be supported. However in most cases all you need is a genuine QC 2.0 or 3.0 adapter for fast charging. Some of the QC 3.0 adapters bundled in the China made wireless chargers may not be real.

Most of the fast wireless chargers have LED indicators. If it is blue it is charging at normal speed. If it is red it is charging at fast speed. If it is changing from blue to red then it is running in auto mode which is to help keep the temp down.

Unfortunately, 50% more watts does not correlate with 50% faster charging times, as opposed to a 50% raise. That directly correlates with a 50% boost in gross income. Since you’re in the business of analogies, that’s like saying a car with 150hp should get to its 0-60/quarter mile 50% faster than the same car with 100hp. Doesn’t work that way. It charges faster, but not by a grand amount. You’re still better off using a plug. Go figure. Wireless is for convenience not speed when it comes to Apple devices.
