I would assume most cases made for the iPhone 8,8+ or X will be tested to make sure it works with wireless charging.
Yes it does work with most cases. However if you add a magnetic plate for mounting your phone it will not work. My wife learned this with her s8+. :p
 
Yes, it should work with most slimmer cases.

However, the distance between the phone and the wireless charger diminishes the rate of charging in most cases.

Best use of the wireless charging will be caseless.
 
It's looking like it works with Apple's silicon case and leather folio case, so I'm assuming it works with all cases expect for those thick bulky waterproof cases.

Thicker cases might pose a problem, but I agree Apple likely has the intelligence to at least test their own cases to ensure they can interact with the wireless charging.
