I have a 15" Macbok Pro (early-2008 model). A few weeks back I had the main logic board replaced by the Apple Store in Covent Garden (due to NVIDIA graphics chip problems), also shortly after receiving the machine back, I carried out a clean install of OS X Lion (updated to 10.7.2).
Since then, however, I have experienced problems connecting to certain websites (only) when on wifi in both Safari and Firefox (says "The specified server could not be found"or something similar), if I go to a different site I can seem to connect fine however! After a certain while if I go back and try to connect to one of the problem sites again, it usually (but not always) works, though.
This only seems to happen when on wifi and I have no problem accessing these sites on other computers at home through the same wifi connection within the same time period. I'm not sure if its a hardware problem (e.g. bad connection to wifi adaptor card or antenna) or a software configuration problem (though I don't think its a browser problem, as both Firefox and Safari are affected - so maybe something to do with the wifi setup?).
Has anyone experienced something similar and/or know what might be the cause/fix? Thanks!
