My macbook mini running OS X 10.9.2 has had problems connecting to wifi for a long time. Yesterday I could not connect to my router, 2m away, and the system suggested I ran Wireless Diagnostics.
Wireless Diagnostics then asked me for my system login to make changes - is this normal? I entered it, it didn't find a fix and afterwards I found a couple of new folders and files on my desktop including one ending .tar.gz.
