Hello everyone. I set up an iTunes interface for my parents a few years ago that interfaces with their unnecessarily complex audio system that they dont know how to use, and they recently got a new cabinet, so the old laptop they were using is inconveniently sized.

I'm going to set them up with the same system except using in iPad 1 for the iTunes interface (they had one that they never ended up using) but I need to be able to connect it to a wireless external drive for their music library.

Will any wireless external drive work, or does iOS/iPad1 make it more complicated than that?

I bought the WD wifi portable one last year, and it worked fine with our iPad 1's. The limitations was the app you have to use to access it.

I honestly haven't accessed our network drive with it so I can't say how useable it is or not (uses the same app). I ended up returning the portable drive because the Nabi tablets I really bought it for couldn't access it on the kid side.

Oh wasn't that a bad dream I was in last year at this time.... ye gads!
